Might seem sily but really do not know how to go about it ... How can I find out if my DV1000 is capable or not to conect via bluetooth. Laptop came installed with software but I keep getting message "No bluetooth devicefound" Do not know if it is a software problem or really no hardware is present. One more ... is it possible to get DV connected to another peripheral having a normal com port ex from USB to COM since this laptop does not have one. Thanks for any help. ;)

The bluetooth device, if present, will turn on and off with the wireless card. You can use HP's wireless assistant or Device Manager to find out if you have bluetooth hardware.
A nice way to simulate a com port is indeed bluetooth. there's a nice adaptor which fits into the peripheral device com port and transmits thru bluetooth. Alternatively, you can buy a usb-serial port adaptor. In addition, some docking stations have serial ports on them.
