Hello!
I have problem with blackscreen on a dv6000, and after some searching I found some tips. One of them was to check the soldering at the GPU and the BGA, but...to the question:
Where is the GPU and what is the BGA?
I have found some chips labeled Nvidia, but I'm not sure.

The short answer is that your NVIDIA chip is fried and HP might replace your motherboard for free:

They did not want to replace it for free, have to buy a new motherboard, or get a new computer. Will try to get the data out of the harddrive first now, and then see what to do with the computer.

it should be cover by enchanced warranty
