A friend bought this about month and 1/2 ago everything is fine until tonight. He called me and said he gets a black screen. I got him to remove the battery and restart it no luck still a black screen.
    What gives any ideas.
    Thanks

Tell him to check this list if his model is defective.

He's going to bring me the laptop Monday, Im sure it is a DV6000.
Can HP fix this over the phone?
I guess it wouldn't help just swapping it out with another HP from Circuit City I suspect its in all there dv 6000's or is there a date that HP fixed them from ?
    Thanks

I pulled the battery and held the power button down for a few minutes and restarted it and it worked, I also tried quick start also. Seems to be fine fingers crossed.
    Thanks.
