Can anyone that has a DV2000T/Z, DV6000T/Z, or a DV9000T/Z series Pavilion (preferably AMD / Z based, since I have a DV6000Z based DV6305US) that has the notorious buzz / high pitched noise / resonance ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=85477) please do a series of steps for me to see if you can replicate a problem I'm having?

    1) Plug in external monitor (to either docking station or directly to laptop, it doesn't matter), and activate it by pressing FN+F4. (It would help if you had a nice and bright LCD, because you can clearly see the distortion much more when looking at a top-down angle toward the LCD screen).

    2) Plug in AC Power (to your docking station if monitor is on docking station, or to laptop if monitor is on laptop) and set to Max Battery in power properties, and click OK. (keep this window open)

    3) Set your background to black.

    4) Set power properties to Always On and click OK (should initiate the resonance), paying close attention to the image quality on the black background.

On my DV6000Z, the buzz is synchronized with poor image quality on my external LCD. On always on (on AC power), I get an occasional buzz, and whenever the buzzing occurs, I notice the picture quality on my LCD gets really poor (especially noticeable on black images, backgrounds, etc...). When the buzzing stops, it looks great.

Can anyone else replicate this for me so I can know if this is an overall problem with HP notebooks, or if I'm just unlucky to get the buzz WITH crummy VGA out.

    Please post your results!

What I know it's not, in case it comes up:

-The cable. Works fine on my desktop.
-The monitor. Again, works fine on my desktop, and fine on laptop as long as it's not buzzing.
-The power outlet / surge protector / power strip. I've tried various power outlets, strips, etc..
-External interference. I've tried this in another room with same results.

Thanks to all that can help out!
