Has anyone else seen this colour scheme for the DV models? They're are sold as "exclusives" in some stores such as Best Buy, for example: http://www.bestbuy.ca/multimedia/products/large/10084269.jpg
What are your thoughts on these?

I picked up a DV2000 with the regular black/silver colour. I wanted a 14", and I really liked the sleekness of it. However, some of the design aspects don't sit too well with me - I think the blue quickplay buttons in the back make it look cheap, the black keyboard on silver base isn't very appealing, and the gloss black encasing the LCD makes the screen appear smaller and restricted.
Before this laptop, I had a Compaq R4000 and I loved the simplistic and classy style it had. That may be why I like these silver-on-ceramic DV's so much - the white interior is very refreshing to me. I would really love to get my hands on one, but I've only seen it on DV6000 models (15"). Has anyone seen a DV2000 silver-on-ceramic-white?

I wouldn't get too worked up here, judging by the pictures it looks like only the top is white?

Before I got my DV2100 I was seriously thinking about getting a white MacBook but at the time Apple didn't offer a Core 2 Duo processor and I wasn't 100% convinced I could dual boot OSX and Vista.

I agree with you that white looks very nice and it would be cool if the DV2000 series were offered that way. But that would mean I'd have to buy a new notebook computer which I'd rather not. :)

No, its just a 'special version' meaning it has a faster proc, bigger battery, and larger hard drive/memory plus a different finish or color than the regular ones. They had it for the dv1000 last year, now its the dv6000. It only comes in 15.4" now, there is no dv2 version of it.

The .CA from the website tells me that it is available only in Canada. Might have warranty issues if you bring it to the U.S. as it is a commercial notebook not a business one.

Damn.. that's too bad. I'll still be returning this one and waiting for the DV2500 (i hope it's released in Canada).

P.S. Tweety, I'm in Canada.. so it's okay, heh.
