    Hey all,

I'm looking to get an HP laptop (DV6000). My last one was a zt3000. I really like the new design and before I seriously consider getting one, I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas if HP will be updating their lineup anytime soon? When I say update, I'm basically referring to hardware and design.

    Thanks!

Most likely around April/May/June, when Intel's Santa Rosa platform is released, and nVidia's DX10 cards hit the market.

HP tends to re-design their notebooks more frequently than other manufacturers like Dell which has used the same design for over 2 years so I'm also guessing a new re-design of their consumer notebooks will take place when Santa Rosa comes out in April.

There are new ATI and nVidia integrated chipsets providing DX10 support coming for the AMD platform too. I won't guess when/if HP will use them, but I think the new ATI chipset will significantly help battery times.

But remember it takes HP about a month before they start offering notebooks with new tech. You could be waiting until May for them to start selling them and it could be June until you finally get it.
