The blue illuminated QuickPlay buttons stopped functioning with the sound muted (the speaker icon is amber in color). I can still control the functions via the remote, and the mute and volume works fine that way. After spending 90 minutes on the phone with my new best HP friend in India, and numerous software and driver reinstalls, they say the next step is a operating system replacement which will take 10 working days (only 3 days by express service if I'll let them extort $139.00 from me for a one year extension of the warranty. This means loosing all photos, videos, music, etc. unless I pay a vendor like Comp USA or Best buy to back up the hard drive first.

    Any suggestions??? Thanks.
