I've had my dv1000 since October and just recently (within the past few days) it has started to make a weird buzzing type noise whenever the fan comes on. I think it's the fan but maybe it could be the hard drive?? Anyways, has anyone else had this problem? What's the solution?

    Thanks

Huh, I only heard of this issue with the very first DV1000s made late 2004. Try going to www.dv1000forums.com and ask other DV1000 users there.

count me in... october-build/740 processor and it sounds like there's a playing card in my fan. Dang it! I need this machine healthy. What's the turnaround like with HP these days?

PS -- this is a new noise in the last day. It's not fan noise or chirping or feedback or anything like that. It's mechanical, like the .49 cent fan they used is starting to go arse-up. Luckily NHC has me undervolted enough that the fan barely turns on.
