This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I've been holding off purchase of a DV1000 or V2000 until I could actually see/feel one in person. After extensive phone calls to just about every store that carries HP and Compaq in L.A. I finally got confirmation that Circuit City will be getting a pre-configured variant of the DV1000 in stock on Friday. It's called the DV1010US and I've no idea what the standard features or price will be. Doubt I will buy one there, but at least I'll get to see one up close and personal before ordering online.

    cool, that's good news and thanks for the heads up. I saw one of these in person at a show in NYC a couple of weeks back. It's a nice and stylish looking machine...lots of blue lights! I didn't get to actually use it unfortunately.
