    Hello,
I've had my HP DV1000 for about four months now and it is awsome... for the most part. There is only one problem which has been recently occuring. Whenever I try to play a DVD the playback comes out very choppy. It looks like the disk is scratched, but it does this whith every DVD I try it with and they can't ALL be scratched.
I thought it was simply a problem with the optical drive, and if that was the case I would just bring it back and have it fixed (it is still new and under warrenty). The thing is when I play a DVD using Quickplay (which is an awsome feature) and don't have the system booted up, everything works just fine! So it can't be a problem with just the optical drive.
I've tried a number of different media players and different DVD movies but it just doesn't work properly unless I put it into quickplay mode. Can anyone tell me why this might be and what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks

Have you tried updating the drivers from hp.com?
