Battery or AC, lights come on and stays lit but will not boot and nothing displays or beeps to indicate any problem. Battery seems to be charging ok, so I'm hoping it may be the cooling fan or cmos battery. Fan does come on for a second or two then stops and took the thing apart to see if any liquid damage but none seen (kids laptop). Any help is appreciated.

take out the battery pack and AC power

hold the power button for 30 seconds or more

Now ONLY plug in the AC power and try turning it on again..

    Thanks for the reply.

Gave it a try few times but didn't work. Was that a reset procedure?

Yes it resets the cmos, it fixes some booting issues

    Try replacing the cmos battery.
