I don't know why this is so hard to figure out. I Googled the laptop specifications and the respective video card specifications. My DV1000t has a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset. My DV2500t has a NVIDIA NB8M-GS. I wanted to know if either could drive a DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP at 1920x1200 resolution? If not, what is the maximum resolution I could get from either and would I want to? Thanks so much in advance!

Are you sure? Is there any way to check? I always thought that IBMs were spec'd out better relative to the competition. The DV1000t is at least 3 or 4 years old. How old is the X40?

I had an older laptop at one point with that chipset for a while. It can run 1920x1200. In fact, almost all GPUs can run any VGA resolution in 2D without ANY issues.
