I did an upgrade to windows 7 RC 7100 and my 3DMark scores took a dive to 935. I tried 2 different drivers, but my scores didn't improve. Anyone isntall windows 7, and got better scores? if so, what drivers did you use? link?

I have Win 7 installed and using the ATi 9.4 driver on my DV2 but haven't tested 3DMark on it again. I'll run it tonight.

With the stock HP Vista install I think I was getting around 1370 in 3DMark 06...

Ran 3DMark06 on my DV2 with Win 7 last night. Got 1388.

    Basically the same as Vista.

Oh, and that's with my DV2 undervolted too.

With stock installation of Windows 7, without any ATI Catalyst, I got almost the same exact score as JoJow. But with Catalyst 9.5 downloaded from AMD website, the score was brought down to the 900 range. On XP and Vista I got slightly over 1400, this is @ 1280x800 rez. I performed the test without undervolting.

I just installed windows 7 professional x64 and I was wondering what additional drivers you installed?

I only installed the IDT audio driver because of the speaker popping during shutdown/sleep and the hp protectsmart hard drive software. And I haven't gotten the bluetooth to work.

I tried the latest video card driver available through windows update but the performance was worse during benchmarking so I reverted it back to the original.

Has anyone tried Catalyst 9.9 for windows 7?

get the official windows 7 ATI mobility drivers. finally ati neglected the notebook manufacturers' restrictions and made official mobility drivers again. work perfectly for me (8510p, mobility hd2600).

but dont pay much attention on 3dmark06 score inside windows 7, since the score is not a good guideline anymore, like it was 2 years ago. use vantage or even better real game benchmarks like inside crysis or world in conflict.

    IKAS V,
    Very impressive 3DMark score!
I just downloaded the TechPowerUP GPU tool. Can you tell me how much overclocking you did to get that score?
