Why can't I get a dedicated video card with the DV2000T? How is AMD's Dual Core offering? Is it as good as the Intel Dual Core? I like how the AMD option gives me the GeForce Go. I'm also disliking that 26 day build time for the AMD crop.

Also, that little crevice underneath the touchpad. How does that look when closed?

    Thanks.

    // EDIT

Nevermind, just found out the 6150 is integrated as well. Which system gives the better integrated solution: The 6150 or the Intel 950?

6150 without a doubt is a better solution

And the Turion X2 is the better CPU solution, being 64-bit capable.

HP typically overstates the shipping date. They'd rather you be pleasantly surprised at an early arrival rather than mad about a late one.

I didn't wait. I've ordered a V3000z.. I've been reading about 100 different notebooks and, can afford any notebook on the market. My needs are simple though. My usage will be:

Internet, email, digital camera stuff (which i mainly use my desktop for), try burning some DVD's.. I wanted Vista to run properly too. I think this integrated video should be fine. The W3J was just more than i needed, the D620 would've been nice but i want a glossy screen. Even though Hp/Compaq's arent the toughest built computers around- in the end, it just isn't that important..its slick enough. As long as its quick and the screen is good, i'm fine with it. I'll know in the first couple weeks if it's a keeper. If not, i'll return it for something else. First AMD, first notebook ;)
I wanted a smallish notebook to take next door to Starbucks from where i work, on my break.. (Tweeter).

    Here's the specs:

Compaq Presario V3000Z customizable Notebook PC
    Genuine Windows XP Professional
    AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Mobile TL-52 (1.60GHz/512KB)
    14.1" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800)
    NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 6150
    1.0GB DDR2 SDRAM (2x512MB)
80 GB 5400 RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive
    LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer
    802.11a/b/g WLAN and Bluetooth
    6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    Microsoft(R) Works/Money
Genuine Windows XP Professional Backup CD
HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

i second everything chase said, and also consider this: hp claims to have made these more durable through a different processing technique. Idk how much weight i will put into that but this model seems great for everyone who isn't a hardcore gamer.

Whe ni talked to HP support, the guy pointed out that the build date for new orders is up to June 22nd and that the estimated build date for people who bought before then is obviously sooner. He said my order could start as early as june 12th.... i really hope so!!!

Im hoping your going to do an indepth review of your lappy, this will determine if I stick with HP or go with Asus. Also those pricing techniques (APP and EPP make this lappy pretty enticing too).

May I ask how fast the TL-52 will be vs. the Intel 2ghz duo core, for example?

well, its 1.6 ghz (512kb x 2) v.s. 2.0 ghz (1mb x 2), so the intel has the performance advantage. The X2 is a 64 bit processor. I know very little about processors, search the forums and you will find tons of information on this.

But then again, AMD always has lower clock speeds than Intel but it still performs better or on par. For example, my desktop AMD 64 3500 is only 2.16 GHz [or something], but it performs like a Intel 3.5 GHz.

That comparision is only valid if you are comparing with a Pentium 4, as with the Core Duo, the performance is very similar clock for clock, so a TL 52 should be competitive with the T2300 and should offer lower performance than the 2.0GHz Core Duo.
