    Hi guys,

I have a DV2000 and the screen is DULL but the image is viewable at a angle or with a torch. The odd thing about it is, when i turn the laptop ON the post HP logo on the screen is visible for a split second and then goes dull. Then once its in windows if i close the lid then open it again the desktop is viewable for a split second then goes dull again. Also if i change the screen resolution again its visible for a second then goes dull again.

I opened it up and removed the inverter and then reconnected it. It worked fine for 30 minutes and then the screen went dull again. Thinking it was the inverter board, i ordered a new one but it didn't solve the problem.

I then googled like mad and found this link:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/how-to-fix-dv2000-lid-switch-backlight-issue.225848/

Which suggests removing a cable from the mobo for a known issue with the same symptoms as mine. This did not solve the problem.

If i connect the laptop to a VGA monitor, it works fine on the vga monitor. So am i right to assume the GPU is fine?.

So am i left with it being the LCD screen? or what else can it be? i heard something about the BGA being a possible problem? not sure what that is.
