Hi, my laptop is DV2550SE, it uses intel X3100 graphics card. Now I try connecting it to Sharp 46' inch 1080P HDTV through VGA cable, but I can only select up to 1600X1200.

I have installed the latest drivers, still the same. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

It is probably a limitation on the TV, not the laptop.

    1080p is 1920x1080
Your outputting at a 4:3 ratio.
Your screen only supports 1080 lines of vertical, your doing 1200.
I don't think VGA can transfer that much information, you need DVI or HDMI.

Create a custom resolution of 1080*1920 by using powerstrip.

Actually I have the selection of 1280X720, so I guess it has nothing to do with 4:3.

I tried powerstrip, but it is greyed out on "Advanced Timing option", I guess it does not support x3100

I tried the laptop with optoma hd70, which is 720p projector, it should support 1080p input, but I don't have 1920X1080 option neither.
