So basically the backlight is dead, I just spent an hour or so tearing it apart, to remove the lid switch, wasn't that

    2 causes left I believe

    * Screen Inverter – I believe it powers the screen lights?
    * And the screen lights themselves.

What happened was, the screen started flickering on and off for about a week, then the backlight died completely. Sometimes you can get the screen to go on, but it will often die soon. When turning the display on, it will make an electrical sparking sort of noise, almost like a short. It sounds like it's coming from the right screen hinge (?? there's nothing there). Problem is, the source of the noise is between both of the possible issues, lol.

Hopefully with the symptoms I've described someone can narrow it down to either the inverter, the lights, or another problem I haven't heard of =\

    Thanks.
