So far, I've been hearing of a lot more complaints of build quality from DV2000 owners and actually really no complaints from V3000 owners. Of course, perhaps a lot more people own the DV2000s, I dunno, not jumping to any conclusions here.

What do you guys have to say about this?

I really like my v3000. I doen't creak when you pick it up on the side. The plastic case doesn't offer much protection, but it is a budget notebook. I just wish they offer a WXGA+ screen.

There are more HPs than Compaqs around probably.

From what I have heard, mind you I'm in no way an expert, the build quality of HPs has rumoured to be better. Although with all the keyboard problems encountered it makes one wonder. At the same time it is true(me thinks) that there are more HPs out there than Compaqs. A friend of mine thinks that they are simply attempting to phase out Compaqs, but who knows. Besides, any electronics you buy nowadays has some sort of problem this goes double for such a high risk electronic like laptops.

I wander if more complain on DV6000 or V6000 side. My feeling is the upright is a bit of soft and bend when I push QP or DVD button. But for smaller version, DV2000/V3000, it feels very solid.
