Just received my laptop and I can't seem to get the Web Cam to work. It's possible that I deleted something I needed while getting rid of the bloatware, but I don't think so.

I called customer support and the guy tried telling me it only works if I use a messenger program.. Y!, aol, MSN, I don't use any of them.

Does anyone here have any suggestions or ideas that may help me with my Web Cam?

    TIA

    Mike

If u deleted something 2 do with the Webcam and u don't want to do a full re-intall, then use the system restore feature.

I remember HP has an application to test Web Cam. You must be delete it already. I played it in Fry's demo.

When I did a clean install of Windows on my dv2000t there were two folders I found in C:\SwSetup related to the webcam.

PCCamAP: HP Pavilion Webcam Tracy Icon Software
    HPWCDEMO: HP Pavilion Webcam Demo

I only installed PCCamAP, but I can't remember if the camera worked before I installed it or not. Either way, the webcam shows up under Scanners and Cameras in My Computer.

    Good luck!

Kielby, I uninstalled and reinstalled the pccam tray icon in the swsetup folder and now it works like a charm. I'm sure I deleted the icon before. Seems weird though that you need the tray icon for it to work.

    Thanks for the help
