    Hi folks,

I've recently re-installed Windows XP MCE on my DV2000T. I've followed ScottM & MDesigner's process for re-installation..everything went smooth.. even quick play is working..!!

But, I found some problems with my Optical Drive when I'm trying to burn Audio Cd's:

    1. It's taking tooooooo much time sometimes - 45- 50 MIN for an Audio CD.. :(

    2. Finally, it's saying :

    - Burn Process Failerd: Couldn't finalize...

    3. One more very important thing I've noticed is: even after my burning app says: burn process failed & I close down the Application.. the drive is still running.. which I don't understand.

Even though I manually TRY to eject the CD out--> It's not working!! But, I can see the Orange Light on the Drive lit & the drive is running continously..!!

The only way I could stop this - > REBOOT!!

    4. CRUCIAL: - At the above step.. _ if I go into My Computer --> I can't see my DVD-RAM / RW drive at all..??

    5. I've changed the CD's which I've used multiple times.. so it's not a problem with the CD..

Can someone help me resolve this issue..??

Check the DMA settings. If you want deleting the ide drivers may help. Windows should re-install them when rebooted.

I have a dv 2000z and have problems with nero 7.0 and burning dvd's errors draw not opening. Draw just opening on it's own. HP service sucks waiting for a new model to come out.

    Okie.. I found something new:

I uninstalled NERO.. burned the audio cd using Itunes.. it worked!!

It infers that it's a problem with the application.. but I'm not quite comfortable with that either..

coz, I used the same NERO software on my previous laptop & it used to work like a charm...

Can someone think of any other things which may be helding up here..!!

I am using dvd fab and it works fine. Nero and this optical drive do not mesh. I have other computers and nero works fine. It has to be this opical drive. mine has the light scribe.
