Usually Hp outsourse the motherboard but really doesnt say who makes the boards. ive taken apart many HP/Compaq notebooks and rarely do i see a brand. Im guessing yes, for the first intial batch of memrons, Im hearing they are changing sockets in 2007 so for now i guess it might work. only thing that is stoping it is the bios.

just go with a DV2000z if you want 64 bit compatibility. but than again im guessing you want the performance and battery life that people have seem to be talking about. Hope Hp will have the merom as an option when it is released.

The reason why i think it will work is because hp is not stupid, they arent going to limit the DV2000T or DV2000Z since these two models are new. they want to make sure its future proof, and releasing it so close to a time when a a new CPU upgrade is in the works, having it not work with the new cpu would be a bad decision.
