I just got my 2nd DV2000T and sure enough it has the SEC screen again ;p. The only positive aspect is that my SEC screens don't have the horrible light leakage that some people have gotten here.

I was at least hoping for the LG screen since alot of people have been getting that one recently. Now I am not sure what to do - try for a 3rd laptop, return one or both... So aggravating that there is such a clear difference in LCD quality, yet HP just randomly uses a screen. I bet they didn't send out SEC screens to reviewers, so it seems like a bait and switch tactic. I hope with all the returns they are getting that HP will stop using this screen...

Well for that to happen they have to know WHY you return it. I hope you at least say "I think the quality of the screen blows"

Return it again, let them take the loss. Order a dv6000 or get another brand.
I love my dv2000 with AUO screen, but I feel for the people who got the bad screens.

Yes, return it. That's the only way they'll get the message and hopefully they'll stop using the SEC screens. I, myself, returned my laptop 3 times until last week when I finally got a QDS screen.

I am definitely returning my first laptop, as I was disappointed in the screen. This second screen, however, is a noticeable improvement over the first laptop even though it is still a SEC. Weird that it is noticeably brighter. I might keep this 2nd laptop, I will give this new screen a day or two evaluation to decide.

Is a SEC screen that horrible? I have a QDS and never saw any other screen before.

Some people seem to get better SEC screens than others. I guess that's the problem really, that they are so inconsistant. I got one on my first notebook from HP and it sucked so back it went.
