Decided to create a new thread for this so everybody can see it.
DV2000T prices dropped two days ago so everybody who recently bought theirs should request their refunds. HP has a 30 day refund policy so get yours.

p.s. HP didn't know who they were messing with when they refused to allow me to request a QDS screen for my DV2000T. :D

Typically refund policies after price reductions are set by the individual retailer not the mfg. If you bought from the HP online store, they do have a 30-day price protection policy, but if you bought from another retailer, it all depends on their policy. In any event, you'll need to get with the retailer to find out how to make a cliam. You will typically get the amount the price dropped.

    Info you need:

    Price protection policy
The HP Home & Home Office Store reserves the right to change prices at any time. Should we lower the price of the product you purchased, you may call 1-888-999-4747 within 30 days of receiving your order to request a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the current HP Home & Home Office Store selling price. This policy excludes mail-in rebates.

joms, if you bought your laptop from the HP website you can ask for a refund.
Here is the link where the policy is stated:
    http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/terms.do

All you have to do is call HP and they will configure a laptop just like the one you just bought and they'll refund you the difference of the price. It would be a good idea to do that first on your own and see if the price really changed for your case. I've heard of cases where the price didn't change at all and that's because those people didn't upgraded the RAM memory or the hard drive which is where the price-change took placed.
