    hi all,

before my HP laptop won't power on, when you press the power button on the LED light will apear and you can hear the DVDROM reading and puff! that's all. the strange thing is that when you plug the AC the laptop will automatically power up. and the normal thing is when you plug it with AC it will either charge your battery or only the surrounding AC blue light and it will not power on unless you press ON.
(I fix this problem by returning to the HP service center and they replace the whole motherboard with no charge because its still under warranty)

now to my latest problem when I use only battery for my laptop the laptop will only light its LEDs read its DVDROM and nothing all black screen and no bios HP logo. same as before.

when i plug the AC with the battery inside the laptop will power itself and only the LEDs will light and read the DVDROM and nothing. no bios no hp logo.

the strange thing is this, after I turn off the laptop (because nothing is happening) with the AC is plug then after I turn it on again it will run FINE. the bios will boot the HP logo will now appear.

when I restart/hybernate/shutdown windows the same thing will happen again the bios will not boot and the HP logo will not appear. when I do the same AC PLUG, and OFF then ON thing it will boot again.

Returning my unit to HP is a big problem now. because its already out of warranty so they will charge for their service and parts. :(

So guys please if you have some ideas or experience with regards to this problem im glad to hear it from you.

Take the battery pack out and unplug the AC adapter.

Hold the power button for over 30 seconds

    Try starting up again.

I had the same issue with my DV9000, sent it to HP, & got it back worse (now dropping wired internet as well as wireless & still taking for ever to boot) with nothing written on the repair sheet.

Sent it in again, got it back with "could not duplicate problem, but other problems were detected" checked off.

Yeah right, could not duplicate problem, the PC would sometimes take hours to boot!

They replaced the MB the 1st time as I marked it.

Anyway, they replaced the MB again & both RAM modules, (marked them) the speaker grill they dented up the 1st time (I sent a picture) & the LCD bezel & for some reason the rear cover, which for the year I've had it, I never removed the protective film, so they must have scratched the cover & knew I'd notice.

the new cover also has a protective film as well.

I also have F.3E for a BIOS, which I notice isn't even out yet on their website!

Oh, it works like a champ!

ok this is what happen i upgrade into their latest firmware F39

now when i try to remove all the battery and ac then press the power button for 30sec then return the battery and ac again then after turning on it will boot fine. but when i try to restart windows it will not boot again not unless you will hold the power button to turn it off while the battery and ac is still attach and press the power again to turn it on and boot.

so with regards to this problem if i try to boot my laptop using battery i will first remove the battery hold power button for 30sec then return the battery then power on. (this is not a normal notebook operation and its time consuming this is not good at all) :(
