    Hey all!

I'm trying to find a new battery for my girlfriend's DV2410us..... I'm wondering what kind of choices we have as far as batteries.

I'm looking to buy off of eBay (only new OEM battery though), as I've had great experience with buying batteries from there for my t60.

The only problem is, I don't know what battery fits in there! Does anyone have a part number or can anyone tell me what other series batteries will fit? (DV4000? DV6000)? A specific link would also help!

    Thanks,
    Sean

There's a 6 cell, an enhanced 6 cell, and a 12 cell for HP dv2000's and 6000's and variants thereof.

    6 Cell:

    12 Cell:

The HP store does not sell the enhanced 6 cell, so I was unable to get the part number for that.

So if you want to get them off ebay then:
    Ebay search (6cell): HP EV088AA
    Ebay search (12cell): Hp EV089AA

I got my 12cell off eBay too, for like 70 dollars, it works perfectly. Original equipment too. Half what HP sells it for.

    great! thanks so much!

I just have a couple more questions:

    1. Does the 12-cell stick out the bottom of the laptop? it seems that it would "tilt" the laptop up, as 6 of those cells look like they're external.

    2. what is the "enhanced" 6-cell? is it an OEM part of aftermarket? what benefits would I see from it?

    thanks!

    1) Yes, a 12-cell battery is basically two 6-cell batteries, one on top of the other. It does create a tilt when sitting up, however most people I've seen that have them like that part. It does make it hard to fit in a case, though.

    2) The enhanced 6-cell batteries were options on CTO models that supposedly gave 10-15% (or maybe slightly more) battery life without getting a battery that was of a different size (such as the 12-cell). I've yet to see one on HP's site, although you might find one on eBay. All of the ones I've seen are OEM, however it might be possible that a third-party sells one. Basically, the benefit is extra battery life without the added weight/size, although it's not a drastic benefit.

    1. Yes, the 12 cell tilts the laptop up (ive heard that it actually makes the angle better for working on the laptop)
    2. It was a 6 cell battery with more capacity, but i dont think hp sells it anymore
