I can't get my notebook to read SD cards. I tried a Lexar 1GB, and a Kingston elite pro 2GB.

System says it is searching for SD Card Driver, but can't find any through Windows Update, and when I have it search my hard disk, comes up empty handed as well.

Downloading and installing SP34373.EXE (Ricoh card reader drivers) doesn't help.

SP34373.EXE is the current driver for the that reader. Have you tried uninstalling the driver and then reinstalling?

I've tried uninstalling the device drivers in Device Manager, and re-installing manually with no success.

One other thing that doesn't work (might be related) is that I can't access USB flash memory cards either !

If anyone doesn't have any suggestions, I may have to bite the bullet and phone HP technical support.

Sorry, I can't help. Hopefully someone out there can.
I would probably end up restoring vista or doing a complete reinstall of Vista.

If you call HP tech support, please post the outcome.
