    Hi

Im just wondering if its a bad idea to use an External HDD, Laptop cooling pad and charging my mobile phone (all USB) the same time on my DV2500. Will the laptops powersupply be able to handle this? It seems to be alot of power consumption

Im thinking of getting a 40-80gb external HDD without a seperate powercord, uses power through usb, its more mobile and easier this way. Im giving my desktop computer away to my sister and using my laptop fulltime, so i need to backup my stuff from the desktop.

My powercords brick (transformer) is being cooled by the cooling pad as it gets very hot overtime. I also plan to put the ext HDD below the cooling pad for cooling

Any ideas to how much power it can handle? or if it affects the quality or performance in anyway?

It's printed on the brick the maximum power you can draw from it.

Yeah thanks but how do i calculate it? Do i have to add up the watts or amps on all the things im going to use on it.

Im wanna know if anyone plugs alot of USB stuff in and find their system stable.

Oh and im also using a microsoft laptop mouse, im guessing that draws a tiny bit of power too.

    You have two options:
    1. Take a physics E&M class and learn about electricity, then dive into your calculations.
    2. Stop worrying cause nothing's going to happen.
