Hello everyone,
I recently updated my bios on my DV2500t to the latest F.21 version ( a week ago). Everything seemed to be working fine in vista, but then when i tried to install XP i get these BSODs (after the drivers load) that tell me that I dont have an ACPI compliant BIOS, so I get stuck with installing a non-acpi HAL meaning some things just won't work, such as wireless (its disabled permanently), no battery status info, and bluetooth. I've tried forcing ACPI by switching the hal.dll files, but windows wont boot at all with that. Anybody got an older BIOS for this machine?
I've installed all the required drivers, but the above dont get detected.

You have to disable SATA from BIOS before you attempt to install XP. You might not be able to disable it since from what I remember, HP got rid of that option after F.16 (still the most stable firmware in my opinion. only drawback can't support 4gb, but I don't need that much) Another way to install XP is to slipstream the SATA drivers on to the XP installation. For instructions on doing that, search the HP forums for clean XP installation guides. Feel free to PM if you need more help.

Well that isn't the issue at all, the issue is that I cant install windows xp at all, because the installer BSOD'd, and it complained the computer is not ACPI compliant. I can only install windows xp with a non-acpi HAL, meaning standby is not supported, neither is any power management.

yes i experienced that. when you go ahead with the windows xp install the laptops temp is very hot.

You can only install windows xp by slipstream sata drivers to xp installation using nlite and drivers from intel .
DV2500t + F.21 Bios update = no windows xp
