Just received my new DV2500t and I have've been having a few difficulties with it. I resolved some of them, but here what puzzles me:
Current setup: HP DV2500T laptop hooked up to 46 inch Sharp 1080p
VBOX USB ATSC tuner
I cannot get audio streamed to my tv for some apparent reason.
I get error message "Incompatible audio source, check your output"
Output options in Media Center 2 Analog, 2 Digital and built in laptop.
Any ideas?

can anyone Help me?

i would set the audio to digital, although i have heard that the hp hdmi doesn't carry audio.
i had the dv2500t and used the hdmi frequently but didnt use audio and never tested. i sent it back today for refund because i decided i wanted the Asus C90s (would get the xps m1330, but took to long to receieve) -
thank you for your reply, but DV2500t does support HDMI audio, it actually works just fine for mp3 playback in WMP, but the issue is it does not work with my HDTV tuner, so I am puzzled what's the issue here.

What, do we need to beg for it now? -

well, I haven't tested it yet, but in theory I have solution... what happens is that there is no sound from DVD or HD TV playback, but there is sound from mp3 and windows sound. I was told that it has to do with encoding and TV speakers cannot handle 5.1 channel encoding stream from DVD or HD TV. So one solution is to hook up 5.1 speakers to SPDIF out in TV which I am going to try tonight.

horray! it works... so basically if you want to use HDMI video/SPDIF sound you need to connect to external speakers from your tv

This is not an uncommon HDMI problem. My cable box works the same way...if it's set to 5.1 DD surround output I have to hook it up to my receiver. It also has a "HDMI" audio output mode where it just outputs digital 2.0 over the HDMI cable which my HDTV can output.
So you may want to look around some more for some sort of HDMI audio output mode in the sound control panel or try setting it to regular stereo rather than surround sound.
