Unfornatley after a clean install of vista I was installing the drivers from hp's website.
I came to the bios one, downloaded fine, began flashin fine, until it came closer to the end and the screen started flashing, mouse went erratic, and a notice came up saying restartin in X secs (not a virus) just a screen WinPhlash would show when it completes.
BUT wen it restarted, all i got was a black screen.
Ive tried the phonix rescue procedure using a CD and USB thumb drive, been to currys, pc world, staples....no one stocks usb floppy drives anymore...![]()
All what happens when i press WinKey+B with cd in..... fans go full speed, lights come on, and loud bleeping noise 1 long 2 short.
when i try it with a usb drive, the light on the thumbstick flashes and stops but no bleeping???
Can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed.
thanks.

It should work for sure with a usb floppy drive, since i've done it on that. Try looking for one online if u cant find it anywhere else. The fans should go fiull speed, lights come on, and then the beeping happens. I think then you wait until it turns itself off and when u power back on, it should work.
i would also suggest u download and put the version of the bios u know for sure works on ur machine, just in case and then try upgrading for there. -
When the bleeping happens the cd drive light stops flashing and just goes on and on....
need to find a shop tomarrow who sell usb floppy drives now lol -
Try taking out the battery pack and AC power
Hold the power button for 30 seconds
Then only using AC power to turn it on -
thanks for the reply but ive tried that...........still the same problem.
