Well I have sent my computer in for repairs here in Sweden after getting a BSOD caused by the Intel 4965AGN card of my dv2700. Sadly as I got it back from repairs it said they had only replaced the motherboard, and as I turned on my laptop and ran it for about 1-2 hours I got the same BSOD (Stop 0A).
I got in touch with HP support and they told me I had to do a recovery now that I had gotten it back (I wonder why THEY didn't do one!) and OBVIOUSLY the recovery discs I created wont work since the new motherboard is in.
I guess I could delete that hpcd file and just make new ones but I'm not sure if that would work.
Anywho, I've contacted HP support and we'll see what happens. I had to vent this since I feel like they didn't even TEST the computer after they changed the motherboard... dince it came back with the same problem!!!
Oh... and I also got it back with faulty RAM... Running memtest86+ before repairs showed no errors after running it for around 24 hours.... now after repairs I got an error to show up after 2 minutes and after about 24 hours I had a list of 32 errors. LOVELY HP!
What can I demand of HP? Shouldn't they fix things instead of breaking them?!

Woah, didn't know that was a blocked word...

Wait, you sent in your computer, for repairs, because you got a BSOD????? That seems a bit excessive to me, as I'm sure it's more than likely a software problem (should always be eliminated first) and a simple recovery could have fixed it. I'm surprised they even agreed to repair it, let alone replace a motherboard!
You should have done a recovery first, that's all I can say. It might have saved you a lot of hassle and aggravation. If then you still had the same problem, I could understand initiating a repair order, but not as a first resort! -

A quick question. is it a good idea to run the computer with faulty ram??? or will that damage it more?
