Hello guys, I am debating between the two models as stated on my title. They are both from costco and advertised as 250gig hdd...However when I actually went, they had 200 gigs. Anyways other then that, all the specs are correct.

    DV2713ca has 2.2 ghz with geforce 7150

    DV6713ca has 1.9 ghz with geforce 8400

I'm just going to be playing light games...maybe some ea sports...Which one should I get? 14inch and 15inch isn't the issue...it's more about the specs. They are both the same price after the DV2713ca having instant rebate...$849 apiece.

BTW, I think both have L2 512kb caches.

For gaming, the 8400 (a dedicated card) will perform much better than the 7150 (an integrated card).

As for processor speed, you'll never notice the difference as most programs NEVER use the full power available anyway.

So 1.9 and 2.2 isn't really all that different? How much do cache's take affect?? the one in 2.2ghz caches don't seem good compared to standards of today.

Go with dv6713 if your gonna do minimal gaming. 1.9ghz is enough to run everything anyway.

One word of warning...I picked up the 2713. In fact, I received it yesterday, but haven't had a chance to play around with it much. I'm still not sure if I'll keep it, but time will tell. It does seem like a nice unit, from an aesthetic and weight point of view. I do like the Dell XPS M1330, but the price on the HP from Costco sure is nice.
The warning is this: when I went into the Costco warehouse (the actual brick and mortar store), the specs were different...in particular, only 1 Gig of Ram. The one I received from Costco online has 2. Nobody has been able to explain why.

Would the HP be suitable for running moderate games like css or red orchestra on minimum settings, or is the 512kb of L2 cache not enough to run this very well? If not any recommendations around the similar price would be appreciated (under 1k).

If it has a 1.8ghz cpu, 8400m GS gpu and 2gb RAM. It will enjoyably run CSS on high settings 2x AA 1024x720res.
