Hello, this morning I had to upgrade my BIOS to the latest one but I found out that I was viewing a different model. Now when I bootup my laptop, all I see is a black screen with a flashing white line.
How can I recover from this error? I've been trying out several "Crisis Recovery Methods" but they don't work. I've used all key combos for boot-block but only Winkey+B makes three beeps. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I put the right BIOS.wph in there too. I also did a CMOS reset and nothing happened. I bought a $41.99 external usb floppy drive because of this!
Can someone help me recover my dv2745se pavillion? My warranty has expired already.![]()

how did you do the cmos reset? and what steps in crisis did you take so far? link me to the bios also that you need to flash if its phoenix i may be able to write a auto flash file for it

I unscrewed the HD cover and unplugged the CMOS battery and left it there for 20 minutes and plugged it back in.
I tried your method #1 on how to recover and it didn't work. I've downloaded another phlash and another script and it still didn't work. I run the script and it formats my floppy. I plug it in my laptop and power it up while holding Winkey+B and it beeps 1 long and 2 short and then the floppy drive reads again and stops. I wait a few minutes and nothing happens. One method I tried had different beeps, 1 long and 2 "high-pitched" beeps but nothing happened still.

bios should be phoenix/award let me open it and look at it

you need to do a blind flash

Which version of Emergency Crisis Tool are you using?
In my case, I download it from here
The size of your bios is 1 MB, please make sure you have the correct one.
Win + B also work for my model. -
@rief: Thank you very much! The link you provided works great!
I ran the script, plugged in my floppy, held the buttons, and it started up with 1 long and 2 short beeps again and then it became high pitched beeps and after about three minutes it works.

This is for my reference incase anything like this happens to me but when you power on the laptop and hit Win+B, did you take your battery out?
Do you actually see the menus for Phlash? or was it just a blank screen as the flashing proceeded? -
There are no menus and I removed the battery.
