Hi all
I'm new to this forum, however I have been reading up on some very useful threads.
After returning my continually breaking Dell XPS m1330, I recently bought a DV2799ea with the Verve pattern. I absolutely love it and I have had no problems with it.
One of the reasons I went for the XPS was for the option to add WWAN so that I can use mobile broadband. Unfortunately the 2799ea does not have this option, however I was wondering what the spare PCI slot does under the unit where the CMOS battery is.
It has been puzzling me for a while and I really want to find out.
Can anyone help?
thanks
John

There is no mini-pci slot near the cmos battery. Im not sure what your talking about
As far as i know only the selected WWAN capable models can have it. Maybe you can swap the WLAN module for WWAN, who knows? -
I might be wrong here but are you confusing it with the bay that it is provided to house the Remote Control?

The WWAN-equipped models have a different base enclosure, where there is a tiny cover with a SIM slot for the WWAN module. Unfortunately, these models also use a different system board to accommodate for the minor differences in hardware placement.
