    Hi guys,
My friend's laptop's screen went black at some point last year, it's a common issue with the 8400m GPU's. Since it was out of warranty, HP wants to charge him 400$ + shipping to get it fixed. I found some guy on the HP forum that said that it is possible to replace the board with the integrated 965 Intel graphics.

I'm very interested in that idea, since the board with the Intel graphics costs only 100$ (vs 160 for the nvidia one) and it won't fail again like the nVidia board will probably do.

In my logic, they would fit, everything is the same except the GPU's and I think the HDMI port (in the nVidia) is replaced by a USB port, but since he's a writer, it doesn't really matter to him, what do you guys think?
