Question for other DV3T owners here: when I use my HP Bluetooth mouse the right palm area of the laptop gets really hot. Has anyone else experienced this? Is is normal? That area does not seem to get hot when using the trackpad, just the BT mouse.

It's annoying enough that I think I'm going to switch to a non-bluetooth wireless mouse..

I'm also using a bluetooth mouse (specifically the HP GK859AA#ABA) most of the time with mine, but it only feels a little warm on the right palm rest, never to the point of really hot. It might be a bad connection causing the heat.

This is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the dv3t-2000:
HP Pavilion dv3 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide

If you look on page 4-43, you'll see that the bluetooth module itself is located underneath the front of the left palm rest area. The cable connecting it runs in front of the trackpad to the other side to the right palm rest area where the connector to the cable is located just to the left above the audio jacks. There could be a bad connection, which may be causing the heat. Is that specifically where the the heat feels like it's coming from?

You'll notice that the hard drive also sits more towards the right palm rest, and the ExpressCard/34 slot is also directly beneath it. Either one of these could also be generating the heat if they're in use. It hard to say, but you might want to see where it's coming from specifically so you might be able to pin point it and see what it is in that area that's causing it.

Hi, thanks for the info. Yes, the heat is coming from the right palm rest area as you face the laptop. I will try to check out what you have described.

It's not so hot that you can't touch the area but it definitely gets your attention.
