This is somewhat redundant as I'm also posting under a dv2000 post with a similar prob. Just got my wife's dv4000 in the mail and while working with it last night, the AC adapter got really, really hot. It cooled a "little" after the battery stopped charging, but it was really almost too hot to touch.

Anyone else have a HOT, not warm, AC adapter? HP tech is sending out a new adapter but I wonder...

It's got the x700 which I know draws more power that the intel video card. Could that be the cause?

I've had my DV4000 for about 2 months now, and i have noticed that the power supply does get extremely hot, thought it was just normal, so if i call tech support, they will ship out a new one? :D

FWIW my power supply runs cool. I mean, completely cool. This is the new power supply that comes with the d\/4000 with the x700 (90W).

Mine has the (I assume new, since it arrived yesterday) 90w supply, but definitely not cool.

Well, I have the old DV4000 and my power supply has ran pretty cool to the touch, even after running it for hours.
