I was one of the people who ordered the DV4000 w/ the X700 the first day it was available. I wasted no time and installed UT2004 and wow, it plays the game with all the settings maxed out. It's awesome.

But, my keyboard/mouse frequently lock up in the game. When it happens the laptop sometimes beeps if i keep holding down the keys or moving the mouse. Meanwhile, my game is still playing smooth but my character is moving on it's own cuz the computer thinks the keys are stuck. Magically they get unstuck if I stop pressing keys for a while.

Any ideas what could be causing this? All the accessibility options are off in Windows.

Are you holding the keys down? I wonder if it thinks there's a stuck key for some reason.

Well, during a game, I'm usually holding down the 'W' key almost 100% of the time.

Anyone having the same problem as me? (specifically with UT2004?)

I suspect that you are overflowing the keyboard buffer. To fix the problem, try the following:

Go into Control Panel -> Keyboard. Decrease the repeat rate and increase the repeat delay.

If that does not fix it, try doubling the keyboard buffer size.

You may also need to alter your style of play so that you are not constantly holding down a key.
