Just got my new dv4000 CTO w/x700. I give ita 9 out of 10 points for value and quality. However, I discover that the Audio setting a bit strange for XP home. It uses SoundMax drivers and I cannot adjust the Bass & Treble properties. Can anyone advise? Is this a problem or preset by SoundMax?
    Thanks alot.

You are correct, there is no mixer like I'm used to having, and I can't find that one is available.... I can think of only ways to work with this:

    1. In media player go to view, then enhancements and find the graphic equalizer, then you can use this to set the bass and treble when playing CDs.
    2. If you go to Start, All Programs, Software Setup and run the set up routine you'll get the Sound Max control panel. From there you can set sound enviorments and get a bit more control over the audio settings...not perfect, but better. Of course, running Software Setup takes a while and you may find a better way to get the Sound Max stuff by going to their web site. Good luck, if you get better info on this, please post it!
