Hey guys, I recently bought a HP DV4170US and everything is working great.... except for one thing. The touchpad doesn't always cllick when i want it to. It moves and responds just fine, but when i want to tap it to click on something, it doesnt always do so. Do you guys have any idea what i might need to do?
Thanks
Richard

Maybe try re-installing & updating the touchpad drivers. Also there are touch sensitivity options in the mouse properties control panel.

yeah, i already tried the options in the control panel. how can i get these updated drivers for the touchpad?
Thanks -
Search with your model number - DV4170US...
http://www.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers
or direct link to the dv4000 touchpad drivers...

The third option would be try out the drivers provided by the touchpad manufacturer(Synaptics or Alps). If all of this still does not fix the issue then it might be a cranky touchpad needing replacement. If your laptop is under warranty contact HP. -
Alright, ill try these out. Thanks for the help miner!
