Has anyone here had any problems with HP power adapters?

My Dv5 AC adapter stopped working, after only 2 months of use. (the only thing it does nowis make a weird clicking sound)

After 30min on the phone with H.P support they agreed to send another, but if this is a common fault i might go buy another brand adapter.

Can anyone recommend a reliable AC adapter brand?

    Cheers.

The same thing happened to me earlier this week I bought mine in the last week of aug. I use the 19v 4.7 amp 1 for the my dv5 1017-nr and it is hell to get a replacement because i don't live in the US. I realized that the replacement number on the adapter is different from the one on their site for my laptop. I will b ordering one from their parts store this week either that or get a universal one which i heard is not a very good choice.

I bought several extra AC adapters from HP, and when one died after a couple of months, I called to get it replaced, and it took a half dozen calls to get to someone in the US, that did not insist on asking if the power brick ran XP or Vista!

On a side note: I am looking for 3 of the little adapters that come with the genuine HP bricks that you buy, labeled for the nx9000 ze4000/5000.

If anyone wants to sell thiers, please email me at joehecht at code4sale dot com.

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe
