Hi, I got my DV5t earlier this week and want to know if the stickers come off easily or leave a sticky area of glue behind? It's just that i don't want to take them off and find that I get all dirt and crap stuck in the residue left on the palmrest, if that is the case i'd rather keep them on.

(I have a large HDMI, Protectsmart, Quickplay, and eSATA on the left palmrest, and Individual energy star, brightview infinity, safety & comfort, Centrino 2, NVIDIA and vista stickers on the right)

Also are there any i should keep on other than the intel, nVIDIA and vista ones?

How come I only have a Centrino 2, a Vista, a LightScribe, and an Energy Star sticker on my laptop?

because models from retail stores have extra nonneeded stickers that advertise accessories and show the specs. CTO versions don't have those stickers and only have the main system logos

Japes, its a personal decision on the stickers, as for the removal, it shouldn't leave residue, but if there is sticky residue, you can just get some vegetable oil, or alcohol, put a little on a cloth/paper/napkin and rub the residue. It will come off.

I did the same thing about a week ago. Pick at a corner and slowly peel them off. Most of them were more of a window decal, a clear plastic that peeled right off with no problem. There was one sticker though (the graphics card one) that was an actual sticker and left a sticky residue even after a careful peel. Rubbing alcohol takes care of the gunk.

The only thing to think about though is if you're going to take them off, take them off relatively soon because if you leave them on for extended lengths of time (year or more) they'll leave an outline of where they once were.
