Does anyone know where I can buy a DV5 with a decent processor and WSXGA+ resolution? All I can find are the basic models with the standard WXGA. I've tried everywhere I can think of, including the incredibly poor HP website.

They have the dv5z on the website as well as the dv5tse.
The website is actually quite good. Both of these computers are still there and have the WSXGA screen.

Right sorry, I missed an important bit out there.

    'in the UK'

    :)

The UK site is an absolute dog, and I can't find anything above the basic resolution for a DV5 anywhere for sale in the UK.

Which is a shame as they look really good :(

ebay has some, some are refurb though, some are new, also not sure if the MS cashback works in the UK but its 8% off.

Thanks for the reply. I've just looked at the uk site but they're all standard WXGA. Not sure if I want to risk buying from overseas.

It's insane that I can't buy a new model in the UK, it doesn't make sense. We just seem to get the slow, standard resolution models.

Yikes! The UK site is about as useful as a barking squirrel

    :) I know it's terrible isn't it.

I'm very lealous of the US site - you can configure your machines there, here we just get the basic bog standard pre built machines.

The standard resolution 15.4" DV5 doesn't sound great, and I've tried every store in the UK and been unable to find a model with WSXGA+ resolution so I'm giving up on them.

Shame, because the rest of the machine looks great.
