    Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion DV5-1015TX notebook which is out of warranty. I recently experienced a power surge which caused the ethernet (connected to a router which was not surge protected) to stop working. And now both the red and green LED's on the ethernet are always lit (I still can use WiFi though).

I need the ethernet NIC also and want to replace this, however as it seems to be integrated with the motherboard this is a real PITA.

Does anyone know how much a replacement motherboard for this model would cost? OR if there is some way of replacing only the NIC (Realtek one)?

Any links/videos would be most helpful.

    TIA
