Hello fellow members,
I am usually over on the dark side but decided to venture over and picked up a hp dv5-2074dx to use as a netbook per say instead of the Alienware to lug around if i am not needing the graphics power on the go. I am very happy overall with the laptop out of the box but being a GEEK i am wanting to know what all i can do to the laptop. Obviously reading the service manual the processor is a pain to get to compared other laptops (alienware) but i am still ready to give it a shot and possible change the HDD to SSD and replace the paste on the cpu with something a little better. So my question is looking at the dis-assembly guide the cpu from i3 to i5 580m to i7 640m are compatible or it seems like. Can someone with further knowledge please school me in what processors are compatible in the model. Also any other benefit to using a modded bios if available or only for whitelist network card compatibility
