Hey guys, I've been wondering if the DV5 will ever have the option of discreet graphics. The DV5 is the right size for my needs (don't like the stream etching personally on the Dm4t and DV6 SE), looks are ok (not a biggie though I prefer the look of the Probook), has nice options like the backlit keyboard but wish it had a better graphics option.

Is this a 'never going to happen' scenario, seeing how you already have the envy, dm4 and slightly larger Dv6 SE models already? The Acer TimelineX 14" has basically everything I want (except for having to mod for a backlit keyboard) but stock is sketchy at best and my 6 year old zv6130 has been flawless, so I'm kind of brand loyal to an extent...

    Just curious...

You know, there is a plastic version of the dv6 which doesn't have the etching.

No one here knows for sure, but I don't really think it's too likely that it will. You'll have to wait until January for the next refresh to know for sure. What do you need better graphics for? If it's not really for gaming, then it might help to tell you that Intel's upcoming Sandy Bridge CPUs will feature integrated graphics about as powerful as the HD 5450 in the dm4.
