    Hi, all.

Anyone had much success reinstalling on their dv5000t? I have Media Center, if that matters.

Any downsides to doing a reinstall?

    Thank you.

Sorry - my "problem" is I just got my brand new DV5000t -- i thought it was advisable to do a reinstall to speed up my system, but maybe I'm wrong?
    Thanks.

Can I ask what the benefits are to doing a reinstall? Does the system move that much faster? Thanks.

I guess a reinstall lets you choose the options you want, and not what HP wants. Also, it removes the useless junk HP installs. I remember that every time I booted up, Id always be stuck for like 30 seconds just staring at the HP Wallpaper, before XP could load the Welcome message. After formatting, all this went away.

Oh, it also allows you to use a different AntiVirus if you dont like Norton.
