Hello! i have my dv5t since a while, but got involved in DotA, and have not really got the best out of my 9600GT. i installed assassins creed and OMG... it just lags like hell on high... i have the drivers from the driver thread
(Nvidia 9200M GS / Nvidia 9600M GT:
Version: 179.67 (Vista), 179.71 (XP)
OS Support: Windows XP, Windows Vista (x86/x64)
Link: http://download.windowsupdate.com/ms...0aaeac5bd2.cab - Windows Vista x86)
i took everything to mid and i can play ok now, but the video when this guy takes all his army to the assassins place, and there are tons TONS of ppl, it just laggs like hell ( the voice is over like 20 secs before the gestures are finished... ) i thought this card was supposed to play crysis on mid-high... what is wrong? is assassins creed more memmory hunger, or i have something bad?
Thanks

Its not the 9600m GT, I played assassins creed on high with ease, also crysis on medium high with ease. I use Dox 185.68. Not sure what it could be. Whats the temps at??
-
temps are low, i have rmClock... could it be this?
also take in mind u have a dd3 card... mine is dd2... maybe this? -
yes, the DDR3 makes a huge difference in gaming (despite ppl saying it is more or less a 10-20%...just look at the 3d06 scores) anyhoo, i am really sorry you are having such a tough time with Assasain's Creed, but i guess either change gpu drivers or optimize your background services, or perhaps see if your laptop is enabling any power saving features...( your hdd has an extra feature under device manager ..... and power saving features can really sap a Proc in a mobile enviourment....so check these out)
i am running GTA 4 all on medium and 12x8 , fine the sliders sit at 35 and everything else at medium, it is very playable for me (on a ddr2, 128bit 9600mgt) -
how can i check the fps on assassins creed while paying?
-
Program called fraps.
-
I didn't have any problem on a HD3650 which is at the same level as the gddr2 variant of the 9600m GT... I think the problem is somewhere else. Do you have stuff like folding@home running in the background?
-
Try a different set of drivers, preferably dox modified drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com
Also monitor your overall notebook temperatures using HWMonitor. -
i always go to laptopvideo2go.. but i have no idea what to do there... where can i download the driver, and whats the name-how to install (i always get a setup.exe for nvidia drivers, will i get this in lv2go?)
Thanks
DV5T + really really scared about nvidia 9600GT
