    DV5T CPU Whine... gone when in Linux?!?!

    All right. New Discovery. When using Ubuntu Linux 8.10, my CPU whine is completely gone, or at least Its not noticeable. I'm using the default CPU speed-step as well, which goes from 800MHz to the full 2GHz and still no whine on battery or while plugged in


    This includes watching videos which used to always whine under Vista.

    Why?!??

    Ubuntu is likely a less resource intensive operating system and (it would apear at least) it manages the CPU clock speed better than Vista.
