I just put on the latest BIOS (Dated November, version F.11). I noticed that since then the CPU has been at 50%, when I just boot up and not launching any programs.

Based on process explorer, the culprit is explorer.exe, which is some how consuming 50% of the CPU.

I am going to do some more research this weekend to see exactly which threads/dlls are causing the issue, but I was wondering if folks are seeing this problem.

Also, I can get rid of the problem by suspending explorer.exe, then resuming it. Then the CPU goes back down to 2-3% used

I have not installed any new programs since the firmware upgrade(I noticed the problem last night while I was playing my Madden football game and it'll get choppy every once in a while)

No luck yet. So far I've reinstalled the sound drivers, removed Microsoft Groove and still the same result.

I might have to reload(twice in two months)
